Changes Abound

The Democrats take the House. The Senate is split, but several independent senators have pledged to side with the Democrats, giving them control. A majority of Democratic governors. Donald Rumsfeld resigns.
Despite all of that, I feel like the euphoria brought on by these changes will be quickly forgotten as we once again realize that there are still too many politicians in politics. No party impresses me; lots of talk and little action. But, still, I hope they prove me wrong.

So many people invest their time and energy debating this issue or that…this politician or that one. Yes, it is important to be actively involved…and yet, the external circumstances that we’re experiencing right now, are a direct consequence of the collective internal conditions of each individual. So electing a new official won’t really change anything. In order to produce any real change in your life, or the world, you must elevate the level of your own awareness—you must change the state of your own mind. Only then can you start to make a true change in the condition of the world.
